In this article I will speak about wireless outdoor surveillance cameras.
You can now actually keep an eye on your home to check up on your children and make sure that everything is alright. You can either use a camera to record what’s happened through the day and check it when you get home, or you can use it live from wherever you are. All you need is a computer with a network connection.
So what is a wireless surveillance camera ? A wireless surveillance system is a camera (usually hidden in household objects) that can be plugged anywhere around the house you like. You can place it in your baby’s bedroom so you can keep an eye on what he’s doing, you can use it to watch over the items in your courtyard or to make sure your children or animals don’t leave the courtyard. There are many applications to a wireless outdoor surveillance camera depending on what you need it for.
Things to keep in mind when looking to buy such a device:
Frequency – Wireless objects run on frequencies; there have been cases of interference problems. So make sure you don’t have other wireless objects in your house that run on the same frequency as your cameras (like wireless phones or wireless computer network). All you need to do is check the frequencies of your other items and pick a camera that has a different frequency bandwidth.
Light sensitivity – The camera’s sensitivity to light is measured by “Lux”; the lower the lux value of a camera, the less light it needs to provide a clear image. Usually a color camera has a bigger “lux” value than a black and white camera. A color camera will provide a better image than a B/W camera but it may not be as useful during the evening.
Plug and Play – The last important thing you need to watch out for is that your camera to be “Plug and Play”. This means it is very easy to install; just connect the power supply, place the object with the camera where you want to view and connect the receiver to your TV or VCR and you’re all set.
