We’re all concerned about our children, our grandparents and we want to give them the support and attention they need. Unfortunately the world we live in today does not permit us to constantly be home and attend to our loved-ones.

So instead of being concerned all the time about our beloved we can now buy a wireless surveillance camera so we can check up on them any time we feel like it.

A wireless surveillance camera is a system which contains a camera (usually hidden in a radio or air purifier) a transmitter, and a receiver.

To install it in your home all you need to do is plug the item with the camera in it and it will keep recording as long as the object is plugged. Then you just connect it to a TV or VCR and you can view any of the previously recorded videos.

What if you want to view it live and constantly keep an eye on your home while you’re away ? All you need is a computer with a network connection and you’re all set to check up on your children any time you feel like it.

What if where I want the camera to be I have no plug ? Most cameras have batteries which hold out for about 5-7 hours if they’re new. This can be a problem and it could become costly to purchase new batteries every day. A simple solution would be to buy rechargeable batteries.

What are the disadvantages of wireless cameras ? While the best thing about it is that it’s wireless and it is very adaptable interference problems may rise with other wireless devices. However this is not difficult to solve, you simply have to buy a camera that has a different frequency than your other wireless equipment (like phones or network connection).

Wireless Surveillance Camera

Today’s world calls for us to constantly keep an eye on our home and our children. Sadly no one can be home and keep up with his/her job all the time. One very convenient solution is to buy a wireless surveillance camera.

What is a wireless video surveillance camera ? A wireless surveillance system consists of a camera with a transmitter and a receiver used to record what is happening in a place of our choosing. Usually the camera is hidden in a everyday household object so it doesn’t attract attention.

So what are the pro’s and con’s of a wireless camera ?

Benefits:

Installation – This is very easy, all you need to do is plug the object inside which there is a camera and connect the receiver to a TV or VCR.

Don’t forget – usually the object is portable, so even if you unplug it to move it around for example it will keep recording for as long as the batteries hold out.

Wide range of applications – You can use it to keep an eye on your nanny, watch over your babies so they don’t leave the house or you can just keep it to know who’s at the door or in the courtyard all the time, or if you’re the boss and you want to make sure your employees are working u can use a few cameras so you don’t have to constantly walk around and check up on them. There are practically unlimited uses to a wireless video surveillance camera.

Issues:

Interference – The most common problem about wireless cameras is that other objects can interfere with it if they run on the same frequency. The most common frequency for cameras is the 2.4Ghz frequency bandwidth and these are prone to interference problems with wireless phones or wireless network.

So you should keep in mind if you have other wireless items around your home and make sure you check their frequency so they don’t match.

Energy – Another common problem is that you might want to place the camera somewhere with no plug nearby; not to worry, the camera has batteries of it’s own. Problem is that these batteries don’t last very long (usually around 5-7 hours if you have new batteries).

There are a couple of simple solutions to this problem: either you buy rechargeable batteries (which can really be a money-saver) or simply place the camera somewhere near a plug.

So there you have it, wether you want to watch over your employees at work or make sure your child is allright, wireless video surveillance cameras are a simple yet efficient solution.
